Drama, based on a true story, starring Donna Mills, Corbin Bernsen and Robin Givens. For years Beth Williamson has tolerated the abusive behaviour of her husband Tim, concealing the bruises from her family and friends. When Tim deliberately ruins the preparations for her father's birthday, Beth decides she has had enough, and takes her daughter to her sister's house. However, Tim is not going to give them up so easily.
Donna Mills, the queen of true-life TV movies, plays another tormented character in this routine outing. As the battered wife of nasty Corbin Bernsen, she eventually summons up the courage to leave him, only to discover that he has no intention of allowing her to break up the family. Bernsen - still best remembered for LA Law - relishes the chance to play the baddie and there's strong support from the likes of Robin Givens and Ken Pogue. Ultimately, however, it is indistinguishable from hundreds of other true-story weepies that continue to roll off the American television production line.
