A beautiful psychology professor tries to hide a self-defense killing.
A beautiful psychology professor tries to hide a self-defense killing.
Loretta Young stars as the emotionally frigid professor of psychology who kills one of her students after he attempts to seduce her on a beach. Making the death look like a drowning accident, Young takes sleeping pills then heads for hospital where a serious case of flashback syndrome assails her, together with the cops and her lawyer. Hollywood was then at the height of its Freudian phase and you need to know what "cyclothymia" means to get the most out of this noir-like melodrama.
