The Man Who Loved Women

While not exactly ranking alongside some of director Francois Truffaut's early studies of love, passion and desire, this light comedy gives a fresh slant on the mating game. Betrand Morane plays the seemingly irresistible title character, who writes memoirs detailing his many, many conquests, leading to a wonderfully ironic turn of events. Blake Edwards' poor American remake followed seven years later, with Burt Reynolds as the wicked womanizer.
