"When the left hand doesn't know who the right hand is killing," screamed the contentious tagline that had mental health care organisations up in arms. It's the only real point of interest in this tepid gore thriller exhibiting little of the down-and-dirty histrionic style that built director Pete (Frightmare) Walker's cult appeal. An ice-skating star (played by Peter Sellers's widow, Lynne Frederick) has the days before her marriage disturbed by the attentions of a brutal assassin, who's provoked to kill by memories of an earlier matricide. One slashed psychiatrist, a mutilated medium, one hacked-up housekeeper and a Psycho shower scene rip-off later, the maniac's obvious identity is revealed, although the title should be the tip off.
