Has Robert Duvall ever made a truly bad film? If so, this isn't it. Instead, it's Duvall firing on all cylinders in a fine adaptation of a lesser-known William Faulkner story. He plays a handyman who tends to, and falls for, a pregnant woman who mysteriously turns up at his place of work. The girl is played equally brilliantly by Olga Bellin, who seems to have since vanished without trace. Like her, the film is rarely seen, but worth seeking out.
