This comedy has a distinctly Ealing feel and a touch of realism about it. Working from the novel by Geoffrey Household, director John Eldridge makes leisurely use of the coastal locations as holidaymakers James Donald and Jean Lodge become entangled with genial smuggler Kenneth More. A few more comic set pieces wouldn't have gone amiss, but this is still an amiable entertainment, with More in particular shining alongside such stalwarts as Alfie Bass, Charles Hawtrey and Reginald Beckwith.
