Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Executive produced by David Bowie and starring Gary Kemp and Sadie Frost, this is a surreal though beautiful treatise from director Ildiko Enyedi. Set in medieval Hungary and contemporary Budapest, the film interweaves two tales. One tells the story of a policeman (Kemp) who loses his ability to shoot on target just when he is assigned to protect a chess master from assassination. The other involves a painting of the Virgin Mary (Natalie Conde) coming to life to save a rabbit! A true European fairy tale, for fans of the weird and wonderful only.
