Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Four ghosts get the chance to tie up loose ends in their lives by taking over the body of uptight yuppie Robert Downey Jr, in City Slickers director Ron Underwood's touching flight of comic fantasy. Once over the far-too-elaborate set-up, this becomes a cosy whimsical fable with fewer signposted twists than initially anticipated. Endearing and sentimental, the highlight is Downey Jr's fabulously funny and versatile performance, with Tom Sizemore, Alfre Woodard, Kyra Sedgwick and Charles Grodin adding sparkling support as the spirits. Watch out too for Leaving Las Vegas's Elisabeth Shue as Downey Jr's girlfriend.
