Gerald McRaney is usually associated with likeable Texans, but here he is surprisingly effective as a serial killer preying on young innocents. Shawnee Smith is the teenager who is promised a modelling career but finds herself McRaney's prisoner as the FBI begins a nationwide manhunt. Sandor Stern's direction is distinctly pedestrian and the constraints of the TV-movie format rob the film of much of its impact. McRaney's chilling performance always commands attention, though.
