From the days when Tony Curtis was a tousle-haired idol for teenagers, this Arabian Nights nonsense showed him at his athletic, if not dramatic, best. He's a royal baby bought up by kindly thieves who then duels his way to his rightful throne. Perhaps most surprising, this non-magical fantasy was adapted from a story by Theodore Dreiser, who wrote An American Tragedy (filmed as A Place in the Sun. Director Rudolph Maté was the cinematographer on films such as Gilda and The Lady from Shanghai.
