Francis Goes to West Point

Fresh from excelling in Singin' in the Rain, Donald O'Connor here makes his third appearance in Universal's talking mule comedy series. Rewarded with a scholarship for preventing a calamity at an atomic plant, O'Connor finds life at the US Army academy tough going - all the more so having invented himself a pregnant wife. However, with the help of the scheming Francis (voiced as ever by Chill Wills), he comes to the fore during a big football game versus the Navy and all ends in smiles - which is apt, as this good-natured fun never quite manages to raise a laugh.
