Summary
During WW1, the destinies of British officers Michael Andrews and John Stevenson seem intertwined on the battle front as much as on a more personal level.

This teaming of Cary Grant and Claude Rains is a far cry from their later brilliance in Hitchcock's Notorious, although in both films Grant is in love with Rains's wife. Set in Africa during the First World War, this earlier movie combines action scenes with amorous rivalry that drives Rains to plot Grant's murder. Gertrude Michael plays the woman in the triangle. It was originally directed by Louis Gasnier, then largely reshot by Charles Barton.
