In this drama, Stephen Dorff - best known here for his role as "fifth Beatle" Stuart Sutcliffe in Backbeat - plays the teenager who discovers that, not only was he adopted, he was kidnapped from his real parents. The cast, including Patty Duke Astin, Joan Van Ark and Richard Masur, manages to keep the tale of the youngster searching for his mother and father surprisingly moving, despite the familiarity of some of the "I love you but I have to find out about myself" plot twists.
