Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

A powerful drama about religious cults. Nick Mancuso is on top form as a man on the rebound from a bad relationship, who's brainwashed into becoming a "heavenly child" by a fanatical sect. The top-notch support cast includes Meg Foster, Saul Rubinek and Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City), but the most memorable performance comes from the obscure RH Thomson as a pragmatic cult deprogrammer. It's no barrel of laughs, but there are flashes of humour to lighten the load.
