Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

A hit at the 1997 Sundance film festival, this spirited Australian comedy recounts an incident-packed day in the lives of five college students. All human experience seems condensed into the 24-hour period as the protagonists cope with unrequited love, romantic entanglements and life-changing decisions. Reputedly shot in just 17 days, the speed of the production translates to the screen, and the proceedings whizz by delightfully. A strong ensemble cast ensures that all the characters are well rounded and believable, and the general good nature of the film makes it hard to dislike.
