Although American true-story TV movies rarely break out of the formulaic straitjacket of the genre, they do occasionally offer the chance for well-known TV faces to be cast against type. This is one such example, with Kate Jackson being less than angelic as a nurse who steals a newborn baby and then tries to convince the authorities that the child died during the birth. ER's Eriq La Salle as the sceptical cop and Lori Loughlin as the distraught mum deliver capable supporting turns and the sensationalist subject matter makes for gripping viewing.
