An astonishing Australian oddity that should have established the reputation of writer/director Jocelyn Moorhouse, but didn't, this is about a blind photographer (that's right) who relies on others to describe his work and who is lusted after by his cleaner. Rejected, she discovers that her employer has become friends with another young man and from this point the triangular eroticism strikes an even more bizarre note. Hugo Weaving, Genevieve Picot and Russell Crowe as the romantically inclined threesome pursue their outlandish course with skill and humour: it's interesting to note that it's Weaving (as The Matrix's Agent Smith) and Crowe (in LA Confidential and Gladiator) who have now made huge inroads in Hollywood.
