Review

Rating: 3 out of 5.

In this family-friendly comedy, Jackie Chan stars as the retired secret agent whose attempt to sustain a relationship with next-door neighbour Amber Valletta is hampered, not only by the antipathy of her three children, but also by his previous profession coming back to haunt him. Chan's likeable presence and acrobatic agility are much to the fore, making it easy to overlook a predictable plot that sees him tangle with Russian villains while trying to babysit Valletta's terrible threesome. There are some smartly written roles for junior cast members Will Shadley and Madeline Carroll, and country music star Billy Ray Cyrus (father of Miley) appears in a supporting role.
