Our Score
Treasure hunters on a remote Indonesian island are faced with tunnels, pools and ghouls in British director Steven Sheil's belated follow-up to his cult 2008 horror, Mum & Dad. Sam Hazeldine (The Raven) and Joe Taslim (from Indonesian action-fest The Raid) are among the members of this grouchy group, forced to hide out in an abandoned mine-cum-wartime bunker where they become increasingly skittish when cannibalistic troglodytes pop up to nosh on their particulars. Sheil's second feature is the first original release from HBO Asia and its production values are certainly solid: lush-looking jungle locations, claustrophobic sets and lethal monsters. But there's little depth to the characters, which would have at least helped to make up for the occasional narrative lull and underdeveloped plotline.

Summary

A treasure hunter leads an expedition through the jungles of an Indonesian island to recover artefacts looted by the Japanese army during the Second World War. They end up trapped in an underground tunnel network, and soon discover the darkness is crawling with savage monsters. Horror, starring Miki Mizuno and Sam Hazeldine.
