Our Score
This lacklustre sequel to the 2008 original picks up where Space Chimps left off, following the astronaut apes as youngest recruit Comet (voiced by Zack Shada) accidentally blasts into space and returns to alien planet Malgor. Meanwhile, down on Earth frozen baddie Zartog thaws out and tries to cause chaos (but mostly gets the thin end of the slapstick wedge). It's hard to know what to object to most, from the lazily rehashed gags that could have been thrown together by monkeys to the completely charmless animation (in both 2D and unnecessary 3D). The only upside is the return of Kilowatt, the cute bigheaded alien who glows when scared. In the end, though, even the youngest viewers will probably agree that this adventure is for chumps.

Summary

A chimp working at ground control on the space program longs to be an astronaut, and gets his wish when he is accidentally blasted into space. As his fellow apes try to find a way to bring him home, an evil alien tyrant escapes from captivity seeking revenge. Animated sci-fi comedy sequel, with the voices of Zack Shada and Tom Kenny.
