Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Before he embarked on his Lord of the Rings trilogy, director Peter Jackson gave us this deliciously brash tale, which explores the paranormal bond between two lovers with record-breaking murder in mind. Jackson hits exactly the right balance between black comedy and jet-black chills in this cross between Casper and The Silence of the Lambs. The result is a ghoulish masterpiece that showcases a dazzling array of computer-generated ghosts and blood-freezing poltergeist activity, with Michael J Fox ingeniously cast against type as a pseudo psychic up to his neck in the nasty hereafter horror.
