In the 1960s, Robert Kearns created the world's first intermittent windscreen wiper, then watched helplessly as Detroit car giants Ford and Chrysler copied his design without giving him credit or payment. Greg Kinnear brings a quirky everyman charm to the role of the humble college professor whose only dream was to see his invention go from blueprint to dashboard, yet ended up fighting a long legal battle against Ford that almost cost him his sanity and his family. The man's bittersweet true story is one of obstinate passion as the underdog David fights back against the corporate Goliath - a story familiar from movies like Francis Ford Coppola's Tucker: the Man and His Dream. Unfortunately, this subdued drama often lacks its subject's driving passion, and is content to coast by on Kinnear's likeable central performance as he sifts through turgid patent law before a nail-biting courtroom finale.

Summary

Bob spent decades to come fighting a lengthy legal battle against the corporations to collect on the patent. Starring Greg Kinnear, Lauren Graham and Dermot Mulroney.
