The first digital Disney cartoon produced under the guidance of Toy Story director John Lasseter is a family-friendly amalgam of imaginative action, visual wit, cultural savvy and gentle character comedy. There's an element of The Truman Show to this animated charmer about cute white shepherd dog Bolt (eloquently voiced by John Travolta). He's the star of a hit TV show and thinks his superhero exploits and powers are genuine. That is until a packing accident has the pooch shipped to Manhattan, where reality bites during an eventful cross-country journey back to LA and his caring TV co-star Penny (Miley Cyrus). The usual messages about loyalty, family and believing in oneself are all present and correct. However, there's also a wholly unsentimental spin here in a clever narrative full of terrific supporting characters (especially Mark Walton's TV-obsessed hamster), thrills and heart-warming fun.

The canine star of a TV show about a dog with superpowers thinks his on-screen adventures and abilities are all real. When he accidentally gets mailed across America, he sets off on a frantic journey to battle against the evil he thinks is waiting for him - but along the way, he comes to realise he is just a normal dog. Animated adventure, with the voices of John Travolta and Miley Cyrus.
