Identity Thief

Mild-mannered accountant Jason Bateman heads to Florida to confront the woman who's been running up huge bills after stealing his identity in this raucous road movie from director Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses). However, when Bateman attempts to drag loud-mouthed party girl Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids) back to face justice, the subsequent trip leads to all manner of farcical high jinks. What results is a lopsided yarn of broad physical comedy and pithy verbal jousting between the two leads, whose contrasting styles interrupt the pace and flow of the storyline. Bateman is, to all intents and purposes, the straight man, his role similar to the exasperated character he played in TV's Arrested Development, but McCarthy's larger-than-life felon often veers towards the annoyingly overbearing.
