Review

A star rating of 1 out of 5.

Comedian Leigh Francis brings his alter ego to the big screen for a crass and pointless yarn that bobs about on a tidal wave of tedious toilet humour. Keith heads to London from his native Leeds to make his name as an inventor, but when his mobile phone design becomes a success he begins acting like a media darling and turns his back on the humble folk he once associated with. It would be a stretch to call this a commentary on celebrity culture because Francis's script, co-authored by director Paul Angunawela, is so puerile and immature that the 18 certificate may exclude its core audience. Numerous cameos by the calibre of "stars" (including David Hasselhoff, Kelly Brook and Holly Willoughby) who crop up on Lemon's TV show Celebrity Juice do nothing to bolster the flimsy premise. An instantly forgettable misfire.
