Our Score
Joel Schumacher directs Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman in this over-the-top and unintentionally daft addition to that well-worn film genre, the hostage drama. Cage plays a wheeler-dealer diamond broker, Kidman his wife. When a gang of vicious thugs breaks into their hi-tech home, what seems at first a straightforward robbery evolves into a complex discovery of personal dynamics, not only between members of the gang, but also between the gang and the couple themselves. Trespass is a hyper and hysterical riot of craziness, daft plot twists, pointless flashbacks, and characters so cardboard you could make cereal packets from them. But it's also entertaining in a stupid, turn-your-brain-off kind of way.

Summary

A couple are held hostage in their own home by four masked criminals, who want the contents of their safe. The situation forces them to examine the secrets they are hiding from each other, while the criminals are also driven to reflect on the events that have set them on this course of action. Thriller, starring Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman.
