Summary

Thriller starring Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman. The luxurious life of wealthy diamond dealer Kyle Miller and his wife Sarah is shattered when they are held hostage in their home by a ruthless gang of robbers who will stop at nothing to get their hands on the Millers' money. There seems to be no escape, but as the evening progresses, a game of cat and mouse ensues and it becomes clear this is no ordinary robbery.

Review

Rating: 2 out of 5.

Joel Schumacher directs Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman in this over-the-top and unintentionally daft addition to that well-worn film genre, the hostage drama. Cage plays a wheeler-dealer diamond broker, Kidman his wife. When a gang of vicious thugs breaks into their hi-tech home, what seems at first a straightforward robbery evolves into a complex discovery of personal dynamics, not only between members of the gang, but also between the gang and the couple themselves. Trespass is a hyper and hysterical riot of craziness, daft plot twists, pointless flashbacks, and characters so cardboard you could make cereal packets from them. But it's also entertaining in a stupid, turn-your-brain-off kind of way.
