Our Score
A cheap and cheerful Hammer outing to Sherwood, with production values on a par with the infamously parsimonious ITV series starring Richard Greene. Although he strives hard to reproduce the derring-do of Errol Flynn (the screen's finest Robin Hood), American nobody Don Taylor lacks both the dash and the devilment to convince as he leads his Merrie Men on a mission to aid Richard the Lionheart. Leonard Sachs similarly makes a lightweight Sheriff of Nottingham, while Eileen Moore provides some rather soppy love interest. Val Guest directs with little feel for the boisterous action, but it's a tolerable frolic all the same.

Robin Hood leads his band of outlaws into action to foil a plan to ambush King Richard on his return from imprisonment abroad and place his scheming brother on the throne. Swashbuckling adventure, starring Don Taylor, David King-Wood, Eileen Moore and Patrick Holt.
