Review

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Robert Young sheds his good guy image here to play a rogue on trial for murder. He has cheated on his wealthy wife, neatly played by the underrated Rita Johnson, getting involved with a young writer (Jane Greer) and then with a gold-digging secretary (Susan Hayward). Told as a long flashback, this is written by crime novelist Jonathan Latimer, produced by Hitchcock associate Joan Harrison, and directed by former actor Irving Pichel. It's a bit artificial, but still neatly produced and engrossing.
