Our Score
This slapdash comedy sees best-buddy CIA operatives FDR (Chris Pine) and Tuck (Tom Hardy) pitched against each other when they discover they're dating the same woman, perky Lauren (Reese Witherspoon). Calling upon all manner of spy hardware and espionage tactics, they brazenly abuse America's security resources to stalk the object of their affections as if she was a terror suspect, in the hope of gaining an upper hand in the battle for her heart. Although director McG is clearly aiming for a frothy romance, the dubious methods employed by the love rivals make for uncomfortable viewing and not enough laughs. Both Pine's wise-cracking, twinkly eyed ladies' man and Hardy's more humble, sensitive divorced dad are painted so stereotypically that the audience is quickly prodded towards rooting for the latter, but their appalling behaviour means it's ultimately hard to care for either.

Two secret agents find their lifelong friendship threatened when they fall in love with the same woman. The smitten spies cannot resist using their espionage skills and an array of gadgets to spy on her and sabotage each other's chances of romance, distracting them from a terrorist planning revenge on them. Comedy, with Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy.
