A star rating of 4 out of 5.

Writer Sophie Henderson and director Curtis Vowell - a couple in real life - inject a familiar subject with some Kiwi snark in this drama that mines originality from the story of an unplanned pregnancy. After discovering she's expecting, free-spirited bucket-list devotee Zoe (Rose Matafeo) is sent into a tailspin of denial, panic and defiance. While she's desperate to cram in as much adventure as possible before giving birth, partner Tim (Matthew Lewis, aka Neville Longbottom from the Harry Potter films) becomes unexpectedly mollycoddling, slipping out homilies like, "You'll have a baby soon, you'll never be alone again." Things take a hilarious turn when Tim bars Zoe from flying to the World Tree Climbing Masters in British Columbia, and she hooks up with a pregnancy fetishist (Nic Sampson) as revenge. Matafeo and Lewis make for a likeably self-effacing couple, while twee indie music supplies the soundtrack, and the birthing scene qualifies as a veritable bloodbath.
