This likeable drama set in late-1970s Boston stars Mark Ruffalo as Cam Stuart, a man suffering from bipolar disorder whose wife (Zoë Saldana) is struggling to hold everything together. Unable to find a job that will support the family, she pursues an 18-month scholarship in New York, leaving Cam to look after their two daughters (Imogene Wolodarsky, Ashley Aufderheide). What follows is a fairly episodic narrative that delivers the odd stirring sequence, such as a wonderful scene where Cam leads an inappropriate sing-song while doing the washing up. It helps that Ruffalo is incredibly charming, and while Cam's behaviour is often erratic, he is also sweet, funny and endearing. Happily, the same can be said about the film.

On his release, he takes on the responsibility of looking after the girls full time, giving his wife the opportunity to return to improve her prospects by going to university. Comedy drama, starring Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana.
