Our Score
In this feeble Second World War drama, James Franciscus is top-billed as an American lieutenant commander in the Royal Navy, who arrives in the Mediterranean to find an undisciplined rabble and a lonely wife, played by Elizabeth Shepherd. Things blow up (German supply dumps) and things break down (actors' accents and relationships) as the script tries to re-stage sequences from The Dirty Dozen via wobbly back projection. Director Paul Wendkos was imported from Hollywood for this operation and promptly returned to become king of the TV movie.

An American officer is assigned to work with the Royal Navy in Malta and leads a series of daring raids against Nazi supply bases in the Mediterranean. His strict discipline earns the mistrust of his men, who blame him for the deaths of three sailors, while he also becomes attracted to his commanding officer's wife. Second World War drama, starring James Franciscus, Elizabeth Shepherd and Ronald Allen.
