There's a certain irony in the fact that a need for fulfilling, well-paid work forces Mary Beth Lacey back on the beat in this TV movie reunion of the ever-popular cop duo. She needs employment because her husband has had a coronary, but it was probably a severe lapse in the professional health of Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless that prompted them to reteam six years after the ratings-topping series went off air. After a clutch of indifferent assignments, they look relieved to be playing once again the characters that made their names and, while it's hardly a classic case, fans should lap it up.

Summary

Former policewoman Mary-Beth Lacey is brought out of retirement to help now-married ex-partner Christine Cagney track down a missing firearms consignment. However, the two women's problematic personal lives continue to complicate matters. Drama follow-up to the 1980s TV series, starring Sharon Gless, Tyne Daly, James Naughton and David Paymer.
