Review

Rating: 3 out of 5.

In the darkest days of the Second World War, dashing John Clements gets mixed up with French freedom fighters, and especially with two women: Greta Gynt, seemingly pro-Nazi, and waitress Judy Kelly, who actually is hustling for the occupying forces. Casablanca this isn't; it is, however, packed with action, and Clements is excellent in what today, seems like a rather obvious piece of propaganda unsurprising, really, since it was produced by British Aviation Films. Watch for a young Herbert Lom way down in the cast. In the USA, the film was retitled At Dawn We Die, which seems rather to contradict the English title!
