Our Score
A different animation crew was responsible for this made-for-video sequel to animator Don Bluth's one good movie, and its quality makes Bluth's otherwise wretched efforts look like masterpieces. The screenplay here freely ignores or alters key characters and events from the previous movie in this tale of now grown-up mouse Timmy traveling to Thorn Valley to save his furry friends from the returning menace of NIMH. A frenzied pace and extremely choppy editing suggest that this short feature was originally longer before post-production. However, more coherence would not have saved the movie from not just its sub-Saturday morning level of animation and art design, but also a surprisingly grim tone, especially in the second half.

Summary

The son of a famously heroic mouse discovers he is expected to follow in his father's footsteps and accomplish great deeds. He gets the opportunity to prove his worth when he helps his friend to rescue her parents, who have been captured by human scientists. Animated adventure sequel, with the voices of Ralph Macchio, Hynden Walch, Dom DeLuise and Eric Idle.
