Our Score
Veteran screenwriter Lenore Coffee began writing romantic melodramas for the screen in 1919. This tale, adapted from her novel, cast the glamorous Lana Turner as an unlikely American news reporter in England during the Second World War, who becomes embroiled in a love affair with married war correspondent Sean Connery (yet to find stardom). He is killed in a plane crash, and Lana spends the rest of director Lewis Allan's turgid film consoling his widow (Glynis Johns) in the unconvincing setting of a Cornish village.
