Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

Tom Arnold won the "Razzie" award for worst actor for his performance in this annoying chase movie, though, paradoxically, he's the only reason for watching it. Arnold's affable juvenile persona can be grating at times, but it suits his role here as a bumbling crook holding a car-load of kids hostage. Filmed in Vancouver (standing in for Seattle) by director Arthur Hiller, it runs out of steam way before the end, while the thin plot is entirely built around a succession of screeching tyres and sexist gags. This attempt at entertaining knockabout comedy is a perfect example of Hollywood dumbing down and treating its audience like idiots.
