Our Score
Tom Arnold won the "Razzie" award for worst actor for his performance in this annoying chase movie, though, paradoxically, he's the only reason for watching it. Arnold's affable juvenile persona can be grating at times, but it suits his role here as a bumbling crook holding a car-load of kids hostage. Filmed in Vancouver (standing in for Seattle) by director Arthur Hiller, it runs out of steam way before the end, while the thin plot is entirely built around a succession of screeching tyres and sexist gags. This attempt at entertaining knockabout comedy is a perfect example of Hollywood dumbing down and treating its audience like idiots.

A stressed executive is saddled with the school run, and his already chaotic life takes a sudden turn for the worse when he and his vanload of kids are taken hostage by a carnival owner who has just relieved a band of bank robbers of their ill-gotten gains. Comedy, starring Tom Arnold, David Paymer, Rhea Perlman and Rod Steiger.
