Circus of Fear

A Certificate

Our Score
Christopher Lee wears a black woolly hood for nearly all of his scenes in this lame whodunnit, with minor horrific overtones, based on the 1928 Edgar Wallace mystery Again the Three Just Men. He's the facially scarred lion tamer in Barberini's Circus, and one of the many suspects in a murder case investigated by Scotland Yard's Leo Genn. John Moxey's disappointing direction accents the cops-and-robbers elements over any marginal terror, but the stalwart efforts of the cast including Klaus Kinski and Suzy Kendall act as a welcome safety net for the shaky plot.

A detective investigates shady characters working for a travelling circus after a series of violent crimes follows them in each town visited, but he is unprepared for the revelations he uncovers as he searches for those responsible. Thriller, starring Christopher Lee, Leo Genn, Anthony Newlands and Klaus Kinski.
