Our Score
Edward Van Sloan's Von Helsing returns to face the undead once more in the neglected sequel to the 1931 Dracula, based on Bram Stoker's Dracula's Guest. As Countess Marya Zaleska, Gloria Holden became the first female vampire star, unforgettably stalking the streets looking for a cure for her nocturnal agitations. In another first for the genre, she looks for young model Nan Grey with more than bloodsucking in mind. Moody, beautifully shot and saturated in an atmosphere of bleak hopelessness.
