Our Score
If there's one genre in which the British cinema has a tendency to fail, it's the musical comedy. Hollywood studios like Fox and MGM tackled even the most mundane genre entries with panache, but British film-makers simply couldn't discover the secret ingredient that might have transformed their cheap imitations into magical movie experiences. Here, Marcel Varnel has an expert cast at his disposal, but not even the hard-working Arthur Askey and Richard Murdoch plus Will Hay old boys Moore Marriott and Graham Moffatt can warm up this tepid "upstairs-downstairs" charade.

Struggling entertainers who are trying to put on a show pose as servants to wealthy woman in hopes of raising the money.
