Our Score
A depressing wallow in the sort of whimsy that Ealing foisted upon the world as British Realism. This clumsy clash of ancient and modern revolves around the furniture designer Jack Hawkins's decision to emigrate to Australia when his latest efforts are deemed too futuristic by his stick-in-the-mud employer. Had his family pointed to sneak previews of life on Ramsay Street or in Summer Bay, one could have understood their resistance, but surely one would have swum all the way to escape such dreary friends and limited opportunities? Keep an eye on Heathcliff the cat. He bosses the picture.

A British family experience a series of mishaps as they prepare to emigrate to Australia. Comedy, starring Jack Hawkins, Margaret Johnston, Roland Culver and John Fraser.
