Our Score
An overly made-up Albert Finney stars in this adaptation of the Dickens tale and gives the impression he'd be happier somewhere other than on the palpably phoney Shepperton sets. Only Alec Guinness really registers, playing Jacob Marley's ghost, and director Ronald Neame oversees matters with the heaviest of hands. However, there's some compensation in watching fine twilight-year performances from Dame Edith Evans and Kenneth More as the Ghosts of Christmas Past and Present.
