Review

A star rating of 4 out of 5.

Tasteless, risqué, outrageous and amoral... this early offering from director Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump) is all these things and more. But it's also one of the funniest ruminations on American values, as the car showroom becomes a warped microcosm of society. Kurt Russell reveals his under-utilised talent as a first-rate comedian, playing the used-car salesman with political aspirations. Good-natured if highly eccentric, the film finds untold amounts of amusement in the misfortunes and embarrassment of others.
