Our Score
Based on a French novel called The Brute by popular thriller writer Guy des Cars, this murky murder mystery is set in Paris with an oh-so-British cast as French characters. Michael Redgrave is a lawyer defending a blind, deaf and dumb murder suspect (Kieron Moore) who, thinking his wife (Ann Todd) had killed her lover, confesses to the crime. Courtroom dramas seldom fail to hold the attention and this is no exception, despite the mechanical performances (including Redgrave's), lame script and uninspiring direction.
