Our Score
This was the last and least in the series of compendium dramas made for Ealing Studios by director Basil Dearden and producer Michael Relph. Here, the newly expanded London Airport forms the backdrop for a variety of dramatic vignettes that put passengers and pilots alike through their clichéd paces. The documentary-style glimpses into the day-to-day running of the airport are fascinating, but the performances are no more than adequate, although James Robertson-Justice makes an imposing captain who, even in the fog, has a better sense of direction than Dearden. Sadly, this wasn't one of Ealing's finest hours.

Summary

The lives of various passengers and employees overlap during the course of a busy, fogbound day at Heathrow airport. A pilot's gambling addiction gets out of control, an engineer falls in love, and an experienced captain raises grave concerns about a new design of aircraft. Drama, starring Anthony Steel and James Robertson Justice.
