Our Score
This immensely entertaining, if a little simplistic, action adventure is a real tribute to its producer, Marcel Hellman. The Technicolor photography, shot on location in Rhodesia by Edwin Miller, is thrilling, and the film reunites the co-stars of State Fair (1945), Dana Andrews and Jeanne Crain, in a tale about the death of a diamond dealer. David Farrar steals the acting thunder as the villain, while Hollywood veteran George Marshall keeps the tension taut. Alas, English assistant director Tony Kelly lost his life during the shoot, and no amount of cinematic derring-do can ever compensate for such a tragedy.

An American insurance investigator travels to Africa to investigate the suspicious death of a diamond merchant and the disappearance of his fiancee. Action adventure, starring Dana Andrews and Jeanne Crain.
