Our Score
A struggling middle-aged rep actor, dreaming of the big break, finds fortune through a TV commercial, but walks away from the high life to pursue his career. Written by Peter Yeldham with a nice balance between irony and drama, and directed by Alvin Rakoff with an accurate eye for the dingy environments and brave bonhomie of unemployed actors, this modest British film boasts a superior cast. Kenneth More is the hero, Billie Whitelaw the girl who loves him, Dennis Price a suave theatrical agent, and Cecil Parker a veteran actor whose career is washed up.

A struggling actor fears he may have missed his chance at success, so makes one last attempt to become a star on the London stage. Drama, starring Kenneth More and Cecil Parker.
