Our Score
Fred MacMurray stars as a seafaring skipper in this rip-roaring adventure, racing against time and pirate Robert Douglas to recover a hoard of diamonds before Krakatoa erupts, and romancing Vera Ralston along the way. Unfortunately, the film is marred by its cheap studio backdrops and hopeless effects - you'll fall about laughing when the volcano blows. Still, there's much to enjoy if you're so inclined, including Victor McLaglen as a drunken sailor.

A sailor races to reach a hoard of diamonds stowed on board a Dutch vessel that has sunk in the East Indies. However, the derelict ship lies close to an island inhabited by a fierce tribe with a deep mistrust of strangers, while a volcano is about to erupt at any moment. Seafaring adventure, with Fred MacMurray, Vera Ralston and Robert Douglas.
