Our Score
A bizarre hotch-potch of greats, also-rans and has-beens combine to pay the mortgage in one of those whodunnits in a big house. Truman Capote has gathered together the world's top sleuths to present them with a slaying due to take place at midnight, and only Maggie Smith is worth watching as the hands creep round. This one belongs firmly in the genre that maintains that as long as you can get enough famous names on the poster the public will accept anything. Not true.

The world's greatest detectives are invited to the mansion of a wealthy recluse, who reveals a murder will be committed at midnight and that a million-dollar reward is on offer to the first sleuth to solve it. Comedy, spoofing classic literary detectives including Charlie Chan, Poirot and Sam Spade. Starring Peter Sellers, Peter Falk, David Niven, Truman Capote, Maggie Smith and Alec Guinness.
