Our Score
Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg reprise their roles as competitive "co-dads" in this inevitable sequel to the 2015 comedy hit. It's a four-way father face-off this time, though, as Ferrell and Wahlberg find themselves joined for Christmas by their respectively touchy-feely and tough-guy dads, played by John Lithgow and Mel Gibson. Much competitive one-upmanship and slapstick comic mayhem ensue during a "together" Christmas at a ski resort. The film doesn't always work. A turkey-hunt sequence is ill-advised, and some themes and language are not best suited for this type of festive frolic. But set-piece successes more than compensate like Ferrell's trashing of an elaborate Christmas lights display and a Nativity scene where eggnog plays a pivotal part.

Summary

Having settled their differences, Brad and Dusty's newfound friendship is put to the test when their respective fathers - one gentle, the other overly macho - arrive for the Christmas holidays, forcing them to change their plans. What starts as a break at a fun-filled trip to a luxury resort turns into something far more chaotic. Comedy, starring Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Mel Gibson and John Lithgow.
