Comedy sequel starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. Father and stepfather Dusty and Brad put their differences behind them to provide their children with the perfect Christmas. However, their newly found partnership is put to the test when Dusty's old-school, macho dad and Brad's ultra-affectionate, emotional father arrive in time to cause complete chaos.
Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg reprise their roles as competitive "co-dads" in this inevitable sequel to the 2015 comedy hit. It's a four-way father face-off this time, though, as Ferrell and Wahlberg find themselves joined for Christmas by their respectively touchy-feely and tough-guy dads, played by John Lithgow and Mel Gibson. Much competitive one-upmanship and slapstick comic mayhem ensue during a "together" Christmas at a ski resort. The film doesn't always work. A turkey-hunt sequence is ill-advised, and some themes and language are not best suited for this type of festive frolic. But set-piece successes more than compensate like Ferrell's trashing of an elaborate Christmas lights display and a Nativity scene where eggnog plays a pivotal part.
